She was born May 20, 1935 in Peoria the daughter of Byron Joseph and Laura Fern (Alden) Palmer. She married Clair “Skeet” Myers on August 18, 1956 at Bushnell. Betty was a proud and devoted mother of five children, Laurie Welsh of Lewistown, Mark Alan Myers (deceased), David Myers of Sherwood, AR; Patty (Matt) Randall of Swansea, and Mike (Cassie) Myers of Lewistown, she was also the proud grandmother of ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Skeet, son Mark, her parents, son-in-law, David Welsh, two sisters, and one brother.
She dedicated her career to bookkeeping and education. Her final job was that of Secretary/Bookkeeper to the Superintendent at Lewistown Community High School, where she would eventually retire. Betty’s favorite pastime was watching her children and grandchildren in their many sporting events. Many days, you could fine her snuggled up in her recliner, reading another great book or watching the Cubs. There has never been nor will there ever be a truer fan than our mom, Betty, when it came to the Chicago Cubs. One of her greatest moments was when the Cubs won the World Series in 2016. She will be loved and missed by all.
Betty’s graveside service will be at 12 noon Thursday May 21, 2026 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with Pastor Ellen Dodd officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lewistown Rescue Squad. Online condolences may be made at henrylange.com.
