She was born in Canton, on February 12, 1937, to Jim and Pearl (Tucker) Johnson. They preceded her in death as well as a daughter, Tina Lewis.
Colleen married Bob J. Ackerman Sr. on October 13, 1953. They share 60 years of marriage before he passed away on October 13, 2013.
She is survived by two children, Bob J. (Ann) Ackerman Jr. of Wee-Ma-Tuk, Tonya (Roger) Pracht of California, four grandchildren, Nicholas Ackerman whom she raised, Shauna (Adam) Reed of California, Terra Pracht of Hawaii, and Bob J. “B.J.” (Karron) Ackerman III of Canton, and two great grandchildren, Kendal and Von Ackerman.
Colleen proudly owned and operated Town and Country Beauty Salon in Canton for 40 years. She truly enjoyed caring for her customers and visiting with everyone who came through the door, forming many lasting friendships along the way. After retiring in 2004, she spent more than 10 years living in Bradenton, Florida, where she enjoyed shopping, reading, socializing with friends and neighbors in her community, and spending relaxing afternoons by the pool.
Cremation rites will be accorded with Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton.
