Suzann S. Hansen

Suzann S. Hansen, 66, of Canton, passed away at 9:45 AM on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 17, 1959 in New Jersey. She married Joseph Hansen on June 25, 1994 in Peoria. He survives.


Also surviving Suzann, are her children, Gregory Sean Warnke of Springfield; Jessica Elaine Sparenberg (Nee Dickinson) of Dunfermline; Robert Steven Stewart of Canton; three grandchildren, Tyson Allan Warnke, Sabrina Breanne Rawson, and Alexander Flynn Rindfleisch; brother, David Scott of Middleburg, Florida; sister, Bobby (Scott) Brewer of Jacksonville, Florida, and her uncle & aunt, Lewis (Tanya) Scott of Mobile, Alabama.


Suzann was a highly skilled chef at Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria who retired in 2021. She was a member of the Monterey United Methodist Church, and secretary for the Banner Township. Suzann enjoyed volunteering at the Fulton County Humane Society. Suzann was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Richard D. Atchley,

Richard D. “Dick” Atchley, 89, of rural Lewistown passed away at 2:55 PM Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at OSF Health Care in Peoria.


He was born June 20, 1936 at Canton the son of Frank and Mary (Vaughn) Atchley. He married Ruth Johns on February 6, 1976. She died July 18, 2005. He later married Pauline (Curless) Ferree October 20, 2007 at Bluff City. She survives. Also surviving are three sons, Robert Atchley of Mt. Sterling, Mark (Teresa) Atchley of Bryant, and Tim (Lisa) Atchley of Canton, two daughters, Lori (Chuck) Grove of Chestnut, and Izzy Atchley of Lewistown, four step children, Julie (Stan) Miller of Havana, Laura (Greg) Unruh of Havana, Brian (Jonna) Dailey of Moline, and Jennifer (Brian) Jones of Peoria, one brother, John (Carol) Atchley of Indiana, eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, nineteen step grandchildren, and ten step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Robert, Jack, and James, stepson, Kelley Ferree, and step grandson, Kenny Wayne Bridges.


Dick worked at International Harvester in Canton and then transferred to Case IH at Moline. After he retired he was a consultant for Case IH in Toronto Canada, and the western United States. He was a member of the Prevailing Faith International Church of Bluff City. Dick enjoyed gardening, riding motorcycles, playing the piano, and attending Izzy’s sporting events.


A graveside service and burial will be at 12:30 PM Monday November 10th at Waterford Cemetery with Pastor Barb Sawyer officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 10 until 12 noon at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown. Memorial contributions may be made to an education fund for Izzy Atchley. Faye Estalene Bennett

Faye Estalene Bennett, 95, of Vermont, IL, passed away at 12 am on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at Rushville Nursing and Rehab Center in Rushville, IL. She was born on November 12, 1929 in Memphis, MO, the daughter of Perry and Louise (Hyde) Hardman. Estalene married Lloyd Bennett on November 16, 1946 in Memphis, MO. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2009.


She is also preceded in death by two sons; Ivan (along with his wife Kay)Bennett and an infant, and her sister; Carol Hardman.

She is survived by her son; Ernest (and Alice) Bennett of Vermont, grandson; Chad Bennett of Flanagan, IL, two great-grandsons; Drew and Noah, and two great-great-grandchildren; Finnegan and Lydia.

She first worked at Bottenberg Slaughter House in Table Grove, IL. She went on to work at Western Illinois University in Custodial Services for fifteen years.

She was a member of the Vermont Christian Church, Vermont American Legion Auxiliary and Home Extension Alliance. She enjoyed sewing and ceramics.

Services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will be in the Vermont Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Vermont Christian Church.

Janet J. McKinty

Janet J. McKinty, 98, of Elmwood died November 1, 2025.


She was born to Fred R. and Hazel E. (Brill) Jolly on October 7, 1927, in Oakland, California, and married Lynn W. (Red) McKinty June 22, 1952, in Peoria, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Robert.


Surviving are her daughters, Susan (the late James) Bacon of Bensenville, Illinois, Lynne (Frank) Titus of Gibson City, Illinois, and Marjie McKinty of Lincoln, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Dr. William Bacon of Bensenville, Sarah (Tom) McCall and Jess TItus, both of Gibson City; three great-granddaughters, Kate McCall, Erin McCall, and Nora McCall, also of Gibson City; and various nieces and nephews.


Janet graduated from Peoria Central High School in 1945 and attended Iowa State University. She was an elementary school teacher at Elmwood Grade School from 1947 to 1952. Later she worked at Bank of Yates City, retiring in 1976.


She was a member of United Presbyterian Church in Peoria, PEO Chapter AO in Elmwood, Elmwood Mother’s Club, and the quilters at United Presbyterian Church. Both she and her husband actively supported Elmwood Historical Society. She maintained a lifelong interest in music, history, and architecture and was deeply grateful for the kindnesses shown her by many friends.


Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation will be held at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with the funeral immediately afterward. Memorials may be made to Elmwood Fire Department or BYE Ambulance.

Raymond Lindsey

Raymond Allen Lindsey, Born November 23, 1940, to Ralph & Marjorie (Beaird) Lindsey, who proceeded him in death along with his Grandparents Alva Lindsey, Ethel Kopp, Frand & Zella Beaird, sister Shirley Dye & son, Rodney Lindsey.

He is survived by his sons, Larry Lindsey, Lee (Beth) Mayall, & daughter Lori (Mike) Burton, sister Sandra (late Dean) Bailey, brothers Kenneth (late Shirley) Lindsey, Keith (late Joyce) Lindsey, Jim (Susie)Lindsey, and Ron (Dee) Lindsey, Several grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and  Several nieces & nephews.

Cremation rites will be accorded with Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton. A burial of ashes will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.

Diana Lynn Clark

Diana Lynn Clark, 68, of Pekin, formerly of Havana, passed away at 7:52 a.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Carle Hospital in Pekin. She was born on February 19, 1957 in Springfield to Donald and Mildred (Dale) Hibbs. She married Leonard Clark in Havana on July 14, 1979.


Diana is survived by her husband, Leonard Clark of Pekin; son, Patrick Clark of Pekin; and sister, Marcia (Mike) Bates of Austin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Michael Dale Hibbs.
Diana spent most of her life as a homemaker, but also worked for the Havana Public Library, Franklin Life Insurance Company, and Tazewell County Head Start as a bus monitor. She loved working in her yard, gardening, and planting flowers. She also enjoyed helping her elderly neighbors and others in her community.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Hickory Cemetery in Kerton Township in Fulton County.

Jeffrey Robert Delost

Jeffrey Robert Delost, “Pops” 53, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025. He was born on February 5, 1972 in Springfield, IL to Robert and LouAnn (Ferro) Delost. His father and his grandparents, Joe & Sylvia Delost, Tony Ferro & Marvis Ferro Smith, and his Aunt Kathryn Siebenthal and Aunt Peggy Ferro preceded him in death.

He married the love of his life, Tracy Lynn Horton of Canton on November 30, 1996 at St. Mary’s Church in Canton. She survives along with their two children, Anthony Joseph (Honesty Meacham) of Farmington, Izabella Rose of Norris, two beautiful granddaughters, Stella Jean and Genevieve Lynn Delost, mother, LouAnn, sister, Jennifer (Jimmy) Mies, father & mother in-law, John and Brenda Horton, sister in-law, Renee (Mark) Stockov, brother in-laws, John (Laurie) Horton, Bobby (Trisha) Horton, nieces & nephews, Rachel and Marshall Mies, Erica Halverson, Megan (Nick) Anderson, Jake Halverson, Ally (Drew) Brodbeck, Katie Waughtel, Jonathan, Cassidy, & Carter Horton, Lilliana, Nikolia, & Penelope Horton, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He had many close friends including his closest cousins, Josh Siebenthal & David Delost, Alan (Tracy) Myers, Mark (Kristian) Barnard, TJ Barnard, Trent Pollitt, Bill Foose, John Kersh, & Todd (Carrie) Winter.

Jeff was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Canton. He was also a member of IBEW Local 34 union working as an electrician for 26 years, Farmington Moose Lodge, and the Fulton County Farm Bureau. Most importantly, he was doing what he loved—working as a self-employed farmer on the family farm, where his father, Farmer Bob, and his grandfathers, Joseph Delost and Tony Ferro, had also devoted their lives. Like them, he carried on their legacy of hard work, dedication, and love for the land.

Jeff was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose greatest joy came from spending time with the people he loved most. He poured his heart into farming alongside AJ, Uncle Jim Ferro, and a cherished friend, DJ Johnson, who became family. Jeff was a proud father. He was incredibly proud of AJ, who shared his deep love for farming, sports, and family. Watching AJ grow into an amazing father brought Jeff immense joy and pride. He loved seeing the way AJ worked hard to build a strong, loving family of his own. Jeff loved watching Izabella shine—whether she was cheering, tumbling, playing volleyball, and especially watching her play softball. He was always her biggest fan. His warmth and laughter filled every gathering at the shed, affectionately known as the “Captain’s Quarters,” where everyone was welcome to share good food, great company, and lasting memories.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 5-7 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton with a recitation of the Rosary at 4:30.

A funeral Mass will follow on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Church in Canton. Burial will follow Mass at  at Delost Farms in Norris.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation in memory of Bob Delost.

Walter N. Bair

Walter N. “Bud” Bair, 92, of Canton, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born on June 30, 1933, in Canton, to Lawrence and Irma (Schnur) Bair. They preceded him in death.

Bud married Betty (Hoffman) Bair on April 6, 1963, in Cuba. She preceded him in death in 2016. Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Charles Bair and Raymond Bair; one sister, Helen Johnson; one son, Danny (Lesa) Hoffman Sr.; and one grandson, Kaden Koch.

He is survived by three children, Bruce (the late Paula) Bair, Michael (Chelle) Bair, and Michele (Doug) Olson; seven grandchildren, Taylor Long, Chelsea Olson, Emily (Randy) Koch, Ashlee (Clinton) Shaffer, Halle Bair, Danny Hoffman Jr., and Ann Marie Pasley; and nine great-grandchildren, Alice Long, Josie Long, Kolton Koch, Kason Koch, Wren Shaffer, Charlie Shaffer, Maliki Pasley, Isaah Pasley, and Noah Pasley.

Bud was a proud U.S. Army veteran, serving his country during the Korean War. He worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company in East Peoria in the SS Building for 38 years, retiring in 1989. He was a longtime member of UAW Local #974.

Bud enjoyed fishing and cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals. He was also active in veterans’ memorial events throughout local schools and the community. Above all, Bud cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, 2:00, 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
