He was born on August 11, 1931 in Peoria County to Eugene and Hazel (Robbins) Booth.
He married Alice Powers on June 10, 1950 in Glasford. She preceded him in death on December 20, 2020.
He is survived by four children, Barbara (Brent) Thompson, James “Jim” E. (Kathy) Booth, Richard Booth, and Brenda (the late Edward) Harper, nine grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one great granddaughter, Kaitlyn West and his siblings, Donald Booth, Dale Booth, Dorothy Hebb, Marie Rasch, Wyman Booth and Margaret Smith.
Jim worked for Caterpillar for 21 years and was the owner and operator of Booth Excavating in Canton.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025 at 1pm at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton where visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton immediately following the services.
