Frank Wesley Glaser

Frank Wesley Glaser, 75, of London Mills, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 13, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones after recently being diagnosed with cancer.

He was born on January 20, 1950 in Galesburg to Wesley “Red” and Doris (Hulet) Glaser.

He married Kay DeCourcey on September 20, 1986 in Canton. She survives.

Also surviving are his sons, Scott Glaser of Dunlap, Shawn (Holly) Glaser of Gilson, Shane (Sammy) Glaser of Carlisle, IA, grandchildren, Bo (Fiancée-Samantha) Glaser, Becca Glaser, Veronica Glaser, Wesley Glaser, one sister, Lori (John) Bennett of Avon, one brother, Terry Glaser of Galva and expecting one great granddaughter in June.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one nephew, Aaron Glaser and his in-laws, Robert and Mavis DeCourcey.

Frank graduated from Valley High School in 1968. He served in the U.S. Army with a tour in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne. Upon returning home, he worked at OMC in Galesburg and completed the tool and die apprenticeship. Thereafter, he worked as a tool/pattern maker at various shops with 27 years at Illinois Valley Plastics in Washington and retired from Caterpillar in 2022.

He enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, took pride in mowing his yard as well as making custom knives- many of which will be treasured by family and friends. He enjoyed hosting morning coffee with the “Cuppers”. His greatest joy was attending the events and activities of his grandkids.

He was a member of the Maquon Masonic Lodge #0530, Fairview American Legion, Roy Miller Post #644 and the Fairview Fin and Feather Club.

A funeral service will be held at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation held from 9:30 am until 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow the services at Fairview Cemetery.
