Robert L. "Lee Dog" Brownfield

Robert Lee “Lee Dog” Brownfield, 64, of Havana passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Sunday, January 28, 2024 with his beloved dog and companion, Baby Girl, by his side. Robert was born on January 24, 1960 in Pekin, Illinois to Barbara A. “Bobbie” Brownfield.

Robert was a resident of Havana most of his life. He joined the U.S. Army, serving with Echo Tab 25th Field Artillery Wolf Pack at Camp Stanley in Korea, ranking as PFC until 1981. After his military career, he moved to Texas to live with his uncle, James L. Brownfield, where he lived for 5 years until returning to Havana to make his home. He worked at Wareco and Tracer Ind., and was a contractor working in construction for many years, working for Wes Hilst. Robert was a life member of Havana VFW Post #6408 since March of 2021.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Barbara A. “Bobbie” and Harold Yaeck, grandparents, Henry “Hank” and Jane Brownfield, and his dog and companion of many years, Rocky Dog.
Robert is survived by his brother, Ronald (Angela) Wubben of Havana; sister, Deb Joseph of Peoria; step-brother, David Wubben of Canton; step-sister, Denise (Bernard) Biagini of Pekin; uncles, James L. Brownfield of Havana and Harold “Ed” (Susan) Brownfield of Manito; aunt, Patty (Phil) Fox of Pekin; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and all that knew “Lee Dog”, but most importantly, his beloved dog and companion, Baby Girl.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
