Dale A. Munson

Dale A Munson, 67, of Fairview, passed away, Monday, February 5, 2024, at his home in Fairview.

He was born in Canton, on July 9, 1956, to Carroll and Alzinna (Foote) Munson. They preceded him in death along with one sister Diane Munson.

Dale is survivied by his wife Rhonda (Reeder) Munson, two sons, Justin (Elicia) Munson, and Brent Munson, three sisters, Beth (Ernie) Etter, Jennifer Cole, and Heather (Ray) Moore, and four grandchildren, Samantha, Braden, Tyler, and Connor.

Dale graduated from Spoon River Valley, and then went to work and became a master mechanic at the coal mines. He later owned and operated Munson’s Repair Shop in Fairview until he retired in 2021. After retirement he worked for Quick Electrical in Fairview. Everyone who knew Dale knew he was an excellent mechanic. He enjoyed building his Nova and Mustang. In previous years he enjoyed tractor pulling, and then racing the numerous cars he built. Dale also enjoyed countless hours spent with his family and friends at the go kart track they built. Most of all Dale loved his family especially his grandchildren, and attending the countless events they were involved in.

Memorials may be made to the Jed Johnson Cancer Memorial to benefit local Spoon River Valley Seniors.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 12 noon. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Burial at Fairview cemetery will immediately be held after the service, and a time of food and fellowship will follow at the American Legion in Fairview.
