Nedra K. Bollinger

Nedra K. Bollinger, 86, of Browning, IL, passed away at 1 pm on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at the Rushville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rushville, IL. She was born on August 9, 1937 in Woodland Township, Fulton County, IL, the daughter of Allen and Nelda (Kessler) Bucher. Nedra married Noah Virgil Bollinger on July 8, 1956 in Astoria. Virgil preceded Nedra in death on June 19, 1998.


She is also preceded in death by her son, Virgil Scott Bollinger, three brothers; Arthur, Beverly and Maynard Bucher, and 6 sisters; Ramona Mae Bucher, Virginia Maxine Cox, Leta Belle Bucher, Doris Baker, Bernice Wright and Irene Shaw.

Survivors include her two daughters; Kim Prather of Browning and Wendy (and Neil) Danner of Astoria, one son; Sam (and Sharenda) Bollinger of Browning, daughter-in-law; Kathleen Behymer of Astoria, seven grandchildren; Dana Prather, Derek (and Jessica) Prather, Brock Bollinger, Brooke (and Austin) Fosdyck, Makayla (and Casey) Watson, Riley Bollinger and Craig Danner, seven great-grandchildren; Hailey Bollinger, Noah Prather, Logan Prather, Grady Fosdyck, Nolan Fosdyck, Tucker Watson, and Olivia Watson, one brother; Dayle (and Patricia) Bucher of Bedford, IA, and sister-in-law; Maxine Bucher of Astoria, IL.

Nedra was a pastor. She and her husband, Virgil, started and pastored the Believers Fellowship Church in 1976. She later went on to start and pastor the Love Center Church and Faith, Hope and Love Church.

Nedra loved God more than anything and it was clear to everyone that knew her that she had an incredibly close relationship with the Lord. Because of this, she loved to read her bible. She also loved music, and enjoyed singing and playing the piano when she was able. She loved her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed big family dinners with them and the rest of her family. Nedra was also known for her cooking and how good of a cook and baker she was.

Services will held at 11 am on Monday, February 19, 2024 at the Woodland Church in Astoria. Pastor Ben Murray will be officiating. A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 pm on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Interment will be in the Woodland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hickory Township Fire Department and the Astoria Fire and Rescue Squad.
