He was born on November 22, 1932 in Peoria to Robert and Evelyn (Lyman) Doran.
He married Marilyn Tucker on January 16, 1953 in Cheyenne, WY. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Hope (Bill) Koontz of Rolla, MO, Holly (Bob) Skau of Peoria, Rodney (Pam) Doran of Marquette Heights, eight grandchildren, Gretchen (Lee) Arganbright, Heather (Kevin) Sprouse, Karen (Larry) Shelby, Aaron (Michelle) Koontz, Jennifer (Brett Dye) Kang, Kristine (Chris) Pavelka, Rodney Michael Doran II, Tina Michelle Doran, eighteen great grandchildren, Melvin, Benjamin, Logan, Alex, Tristan, Kalahn, Giddeon, Isaac, Jacob, Matthew, Jacey, Oliver, Melodi, Auston, Madison, Landon, Bentley, Kaitlyn and one great great grandchild Kaden.
Also preceding him in death is his sister Mary Ann (Don) Burkey and his brothers, Robert (Ann) Doran and Dennis (Cheryl) Doran.
Gerald enlisted in the U.S. Airforce September 30, 1952-1956 and was stationed in Cheyenne, WY. He was a truck driver for Sealtest Ice Cream and Becker Brothers.
Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded with the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton. A graveside burial of the ashes will be held at St Patrick Cemetery in Kickapoo at a later date.
