Kirt Alan Pugh

Kirt Alan Pugh, 73, of Canton, passed away at 9:53 PM on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at his residence. He was born on January 6, 1950 in Galesburg, IL to Robert and Rogene Pugh. He married Carla S. “Susie” Elson on November 28, 1992. She preceded him in death on April 15, 2015.

He is also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Cletus Williams and Kelly Pugh; niece, Jennifer; and two nephews; Clay and baby Cletus.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Marilyn (Keith) Aden; two children, James D. (Mindy) Pugh of Abingdon, IL and Kari Pugh of Cuba, IL; one grandson, CJ Pugh; two sisters, Ronda (Chip) Piatt and Lanaya (Curtis) Wooddell; dog, Jethro; best friends, Carl Laver and Rudy Bishop; and several nieces and nephews.

Kirt was a merchant marine. He really enjoyed fishing and spending time with his dog, Jethro. He enjoyed going to watch his grandson CJ play sports. Kirt had the kindest heart and a great sense of humor. He loved to hang out in his garage, where he spent a lot of good times with his family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Celebration of Life will follow visitation at 3:00 PM the same day at Brew N Cue, 113 E. Elm Street in Canton, IL.
