Christopher "Wheels" Wheeler

Christopher “Wheels” Wheeler, 40, of Farmington, Passed away, Sunday, June 11, 2023, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on February 1, 1983, in Denton County Texas to Richard and Teresa (Nichols) Wheeler.

He is survived by his mother and father, one son Isaac Wheeler of Vienna Illinois, one brother Kevin (Lori) Wheeler of Vienna Illinois, one sister Brandy Hocking of Pearland Texas, two nieces, Ilyssa, and Marissa, and one nephew, Caden.

Christopher "Wheels" Wheeler is a wonderful son, proud father, loved brother, nephew, cousin, and uncle. Chris is super proud of his son Isaac and often brags on Isaac. Chris would say "Isaac was his biggest accomplishment". He might be a bit stubborn but Chris has a good heart and a playful spirit. He is generous and loyal. He is a friend to many and has a great love for his friends. He often says "My friends are my family." This was very evident by the number of "chosen family" that came to support him the last few days. Our Wheels is an active, outdoors-y, rascally good time guy. Fishing, four wheeling, bar-b-q-ing, drinking and joking around the campfire. These are his happy places. His neighbors and close friends say he is the best neighbor, like a built- in security system, always available to lend a hand and a big strong guy. We asked his friends to share some stories about their time with him but to keep it clean since his sister was in the room. The room just fell silent. Then they laughed and said "we don't have any clean stories. All our stories are us playing hard!" He loves music and will play his current favorite songs on repeat driving everyone else a bit crazy. Our “Big Wheels” is a hell raising, free spirit, who lives large with crazy fun. We love you, Chris! Fly high, and Give Heaven some Hell.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Following the visitation cremation rites will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be made to a memorial account for his son Isaac, online contributions can be made trough Zelle at: forisaac2023@gmail.com. To leave online condolences or to view Chris’s video tribute, please visit www.oakshinesfuneralhome.com
