Sidney C. Savill, 83 of Canton, passed away at 1:48 AM on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at his residence. He was born on August 14, 1934 in Canton, a son of Ralph and Gladys (Downs) Savill. He married Barbara Seward on November 27, 1954 in Canton. She preceded him in death on August 1, 2006. He later married Lema Allard on January 11, 2008 in Canton. She survives.
Also surviving are his daughters, Diane (Mike) Darlington of Dalton City, IL; Julie (Willie) Alig of Metamora, Lisa Savill of Canton; two step-daughters, Barbara (Marion) Kuzniar of Canton; Cindy (Dave) Duquenne of Canton; five grandchildren, Ashley Alig, Kelsey (Daniel) Barnes, Jeremy Alig, Sydney and RyLee Dowdell; four step-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Savill of Canton, and one sister, Shirley Hogon of Springfield, Ohio.
Sidney was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one step-son, Mike Alllard.
He worked for Caterpillar for many years before retiring in 1984, he was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Canton, and member of the Farmington Moose Lodge #1571. Sidney served his country from 1954-1956 serving in the United States Army. Sid was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the Church of the Brethren in Canton. Rev. Kevin Kessler will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded through Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton. A private burial service will take place at a later date.
