Lewistown- Mildred I. Leezer, 99, of Morton and formerly of Lewistown, passed away at 1:21 PM Saturday January 20, 2018 at Unity Point Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
She was born December 5, 1918 at McDonough County, IL; the daughter of Ford Glenn and Ethel (Baughman) Bishop. She married Rollin L. Leezer on December 17, 1950 at Rushville. He died September 24, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Dale, Howard, Junior, and an infant, and two sisters, Betty and Mary. Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn (Ed) Duvall of Morton, and one granddaughter, Lauren Duvall of Morton.
Mildred retired from the Fulton County Treasurers Office in 1981 after 38 years of service. She was a member of the Illinois Street Christian Church where she had served as a deaconess. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club, the Fulton County Legal Secretaries, and a former member of the Lewistown Junior Women’s Club.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown, with Reverend Brant Reed officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1. Condolences may be made at henrylange.com
