Lewistown- Franklin D. Helle, 84, of Lewistown passed away at 9:18 AM Sunday January 28, 2018 at Renaissance Care Center in Canton.
He was born March 26, 1933 at rural Smithfield the son of Charlie and Ethel (Worley) Helle. He married Donna Mason on February 11, 1956 at Bushnell. She survives. Also surviving are three children, Joyce (Bob) Madson of Lewistown, Larry Helle of Peoria and Jerry Helle of Canton, one sister, Beulah Walton of Cuba, three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Franklin was a machine operator at Caterpillar for 30 years. He was a US Army Veteran. He attended Waterford Union Church and was a member of UAW Local 974. Franklin enjoyed fishing, hunting, tinkering in his garage and meeting friends and visiting with people over coffee.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Pastor Mike Floyd officiating. Burial will be in Waterford Cemetery at rural Lewistown. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the memorial home. Memorial contributions may be made to Waterford Union Church or Paralyzed Veterans of America.
