John R. Grigsby Jr. 65, of Canton, passed away at 4:28 PM on Friday, January 5, 2018 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on March 17, 1952 in Canton, a son of John Sr. and Lorraine (Lenhausen) Grigsby. John married the love of his life, LuAnn Schnieder on July 12, 1974 in Canton. She survives.
Also surviving is one daughter, Sarah (Brian) Strode of Canton; two granddaughters, Natalie and Payton Strode; one brother, Kevin (Angie) Grigsby of Lewistown, and his parents of Canton.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Mike Grigsby.
John graduated from Canton High School in 1970, and was employed by Caterpillar, and retired after 30 years. He also was a local business owner of several businesses for the past several years.
John was a friend to everyone, and enjoyed helping anyone who needed it. His love for his family and life will live on in those he cared for most. John was especially fond of his granddaughters, and found pleasure in spending time with them through the last years of his life.
