Margaret E. Lefler

Canton – Margaret E. Lefler, 91 , of Canton passed away Tuesday January 16, 2017 at Heartland Healthcare in Canton.
She was born June 27, 1926 in New Salem Township to Jasper and Sada (Landis) Scott. She married Loren Lefler on October 26, 1946 in Galesburg. He proceeded her in death on May 24, 2004.
She is survived by two children, Ellen Pierce and Dennis Lefler, three sisters Virginia Hedges, Francis Henderson, and Audrey Apple, Fifteen Grandchildren, and several Great – Grandchildren.
Proceeding her in death are Her parents, two children Marsha Simpson, and Terry Lefler, two brothers Robert Scott and Carrol Scott, and two sisters Alice Echard and Joyce Putman.
Margaret worked at the overall factory in Canton, and was an Admiral at the Maytag factory in Galesburg retiring in 1991. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary
A visitation will be held on Saturday January 20, 2018, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton from 4 pm. Until 5 p.m.
A burial will be held at a later date at Fairview Cemetery in Fairview.
Memorials may be made to Spoon River Hospice, American Heart Association or to the Disabled American Veterans Foundation.
