Canton – Donna J. Locke, 88, of Canton, passed away at 7:50 AM on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Clayberg Nursing Home. She was born on March 8, 1929 in Canton to Harold and Violet (Malmgren) Phillips. She married Edward Locke Sr. on March 8, 1947 in Cuba, IL, he preceded her in death in June 19, 2000.
Donna is also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Jolene Hill.
Surviving are three children, Ed (Pam) Locke Jr. of Canton, Barbara Bryant of Canton, and Don (Nancy) Locke of Cuba; seven grandchildren, Stacie (Todd) Randall, Ryan (Michelle) Locke, Neely (Jason) Hart, Julie (David) Barrett, Brandi (Mike) Howarter, Dawnelle Locke, and Jason Locke; twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers, John (Sharon) Phillips of Glasford and Darrell (Linda) Phillips of Farmington; and her cat, Peanut.
Donna worked at Phillips Greenhouse and later worked in retail sales at Spurgeon’s in Canton. She was a member of Covenant Community Church in Canton. Donna loved to eat out at various restaurants, especially loving biscuits and gravy. She also loved cardinal birds and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Pastor Jason Phillips will officiate. Burial will follow the services at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Monday, January 15, 2018 at the funeral home.
