Jeffrey L. Keefauver


Jeffrey L. Keefauver, 56, of Astoria, passed away at 7:02 AM on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Mason District Hospital in Havana. He was born on August 8, 1963 to Charles Keefauver and Jean (Vollmar) King.

Surviving is his mother, Jean King and step-father, Cecil King; four children, Kyla, Sadie, Cally, and Gavin; one granddaughter, Waylyn Dabney; two brothers, Brad and Curt Keefauver; one sister, Carla Summers; and Aunt, Esther Keefauver.

He is preceded in death by his father.

Jeffrey enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved his family and was a great dad. He also served in the National Guard.

Memberships:   Astoria Christian Church and the Fulton County Home Extension.  She enjoyed painting, drawing, camping and fishing.  She enjoyed her chickens and collected ceramic chickens.  Mary Ellen liked planting flowers and baking.

Alton L. “Al” Bass


Alton L. “Al” Bass, 72, of Brimfield, passed away at 6:38 AM on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at OSF Saint Mary’s Medical Center in Galesburg. He was born on June 18, 1947 in Peoria. He married the love of his life Linda Dunn on May 24, 1970 in Laura, Illinois. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Jeff (Angie Thomas) Bass of Cuba; Tom (Becki) Bass of North Dakota; five grandchildren, Tristian (Jessica Lynch) Thomas, Alex (Colin Deakin) Thomas, Ella, Nate and Sam Bass.

Al graduated from Hononegah High School in Rockton, Illinois, then attended and graduated from Elkhart Institute of Tech in Elkhart, Indiana. he was owner and operator of JT Dental Lab in Brimfield, was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge #44 in Farmington, American Legion Post #452 in Brimfield, and a member of the Illinois BMW motorcycle club.

In June of 1967, Al was drafted in the United States Army with the 3rd Brigade 82nd Airborne, and in 1968 he was wounded in the field, and was transferred to Saigon Adventist Hospital then to Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Denver. Al passed away peacefully on Saturday, from what was determined to be a Vietnam-era herbicide-exposed Veteran.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, where visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of services. Pastor Ardis Corsaw will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Army and Canton VFW Post 1984 following the services. Pearline Hadsall

Canton – Pearline Hadsall, 87, of Canton passed away at 1:00 pm Saturday, November 23, 2019 at her residence.  She was born on February 3, 1932 in Wardell, Missouri to Clifton and Dorothy (Coggins) Wilson.  She married Francis Hadsall.  He died in 1989.  Also preceding her in death were her parents and one sister Wanda “Bid” Fulk.  Surviving is one daughter Linda Martin of Canton, two brothers; Clifton Wilson and David Wilson, one sister Sunderine (Wayne C.) Temple, one granddaughter Sherry (Jeremy) Yocum, and two great-grandsons; Jordon and Jacob.
Pearline owned and operated many businesses over the years, including a restaurant, gift shop, pool hall, bar, and a quilt shop.
