William F. Kinsel

William “Bill” Kinsel, 83, of Springfield, Ohio, formerly of Cuba passed away July 8, 2023. He was born on September 28, 1939 in Canton, IL to Clarence F. and C. Mary (Whitney) Kinsel.

Bill married Kathleen (Lafferty) Kinsel February 1960. She proceeded him in death in 1997. He later married Reina (Ryan) Kinsel of Ohio in May 1998. She survives. Also surviving are his children: Kelli (Kent) Canevit, Kristi Martin (Jim Trotter) and Mike Ryan. Grandchildren: Nicole (Chad) Derenzy, Billy (Lynzee) Kinsel, Keena (Darrin) Roberts, Keaton (Meaghan) Canevit, Cole Martin, Kitara (Kaleb) DeCapp, Jacob Ryan, Zachery Ryan and Kendra White. Also surviving are many great grandchildren and brother Bob (Lucille) Kinsel, sisters Joyce Johnson and Doris (Ronny) Simmons. Proceeding in death are two sons Kent W. Kinsel and Tony Ryan, three brothers and one sister.

Bill was a mechanic at Lock’s Ford Town in Canton and later worked at International Harvester in Canton IL. Bill transferred with Harvester to Ohio and retired there in 1999. Bill was extremely gifted in doing leather work. He repaired saddles, bridles and horse gear for the area horse enthusiasts. Bill was also an avid gardener and was quite known for his huge gardens and especially his strawberry patch.

In 1982 Bill became a Christian and that changed his life. He served the Lord the rest of his time here on earth and every chance he had he loved to share the love of Jesus with others.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 11 am at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton with a visitation held one hour prior at the funeral home.

Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.
