Esther M. Stear

Farmington- Esther M. Stear, 102, of Farmington, formerly of Hanna City, passed away at 6:07 PM on Monday, July 17, 2023 at Hallmark Healthcare of Pekin. She was born on April 26, 1921 in Hanna City, a daughter of Albert H. and Myrtle V. (Moore) Beecher. She married Russell L. Stear on September 16, 1939 in Davenport, Iowa. He preceded her in death on November 30, 1997.

Also preceding her in death are her parents, one son, Larry D. (Faustine) Stear; one daughter-in-law, Glenda (David) Stear.

Surviving is one son, Darrell (Deb) Stear of Miner; one daughter-in-law, Linda Stear of Mt. Sterling; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Esther enjoyed driving a school bus for Illini Bluffs School District for 23 years, was an Exhibitor at the Heart of Illinois Fair in Peoria for many years, was a member of the Hanna City United Methodist Church, and enjoyed gardening, and flowers.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 21, 2023 at the Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, where a visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the services. Pastor Walter Wilkins will officiate. Burial will take place in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton. Memorials can be made to the Hanna City Fire Department or to the Hanna City United Methodist Church.
