Lois Ann Hardy

Lois Ann Hardy gained her angel wings on Friday, April 7, 2023 at the age of 78 at Havana Healthcare Center in Havana, Illinois. She was born on May 20, 1944 to Andrew Hawk and Velma Green Hawk in Beardstown, Illinois. She married Joseph Hardy on September 2, 1961.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Joe, in 2018, her father Andrew, mother Velma, step-father James Gaines, sister Hazel, and infant sister Carolyn.
She is survived by daughters, Kay (Mario) Betancourt and Angela (Eric) Stillman, both of Havana, grandchildren Amber (Bobby) Niederer, Heather (Anthony) Miller, Megan (Ryan) Niederer, Nathan (Amber) Stillman, Cody (Brad) Stillman, and Erica (Danny) Carroll, and great-grandchildren, Hannah Miller, Haley Miller, Layne Stillman, Mackenzy Stillman, Sarah Fowler, Haisley Carroll, Lakyn Carroll, and Livie Carroll.
Lois was a Christian and loved the Lord. She was a very loving and giving person to all who knew her. She was always wanting to help others.
She worked for the State of Illinois at the Mason State Tree Nursery for many years and then retired from the State Museum in Springfield, Illinois.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 3:15 p.m. at Laurel Hill Mausoleum. Pastor Aaron Blakeley will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made in Lois’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to her family. Online condolences can be left for her family at www.hurleyfh.com.
