Lewis "Pete" Gilbert Calicotte

Mapleton-Lewis "Pete" Gilbert Calicotte, 87, of Mapleton, passed away at 3:55 PM on Thursday April 20, 2023 at his residence. He was born on July 6, 1935 in Hannibal, Missouri, a son of Louie and Lillian (Edie) Calicotte. He married the love of his life, Ramona Greenley on April 2, 1968 in Hannibal, Missouri. She survives.

Also surviving is one son, Chuck (Teresa) Calicotte of Mapleton; two granddaughters, Jessica (Blake) Evans of Washington, Jennifer Calicotte of Bartonville, and one great-grandson, Hunter Evans.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Betty.

He worked and retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers, he was of the Lutheran faith, and a member of the Masonic Lodge #188 in Hannibal, Missouri. Pete enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and being a #1 fan. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Per Pete's wishes, there will be no services, cremation rites will be accorded through Endsley-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Bartonville. A celebration of life gathering will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Calicotte Inc., 4401 Constitution Drive, Bartonville, Illinois 61607, where military honors will be conducted by the United States Army.
