Ronald "Ron" R. Anderson

Ronald “Ron” R. Anderson, 76, of Brimfield, passed away at 5:50 p.m., on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born September 13, 1946, in Peoria, to Robert and Vera (Kohl) Anderson. He married Mary Aberle on July 10, 1971, in Peoria. She survives.

Ron is also survived by two children, Jennifer (Kelly) Shaughnessy of Mapleton, and Angela Anderson of Chicago; one brother, Steven (Sheree) Anderson, and one grandson, Ty Thomas Shaughnessy.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Judith McKay.

Ron was a Mechanical Engineer at Caterpillar for 35 years where he retired in 2005. He was a member of the Chillicothe Sportsmen’s Club. He was also a member of the Union Church in Brimfield where he served as a Moderator and Trustee for the church.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at the Union Church in Brimfield. A visitation will be held the night before, on Friday, March 31, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the church as well as prior to the funeral from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the church. Cremation rites will then be accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ty’s Educational Fund.
