Daniel Mark Strube

Daniel Mark Strube, 65, of Bath, passed away at 9:40 a.m., on Friday March 17, 2023, at St. John’s Hospital, in Springfield, surrounded by his children. He was born July 21, 1957, in Tazewell County, Illinois, to Glenn and Lela (Osing) Strube.


Mr. Strube is survived by two children: James (Michelle) Strube, of Easton, Julie (Jesse) Williamson, of San Jose; six grandchildren: Eli and Olivia Strube, Amanda Darr, Isabel Strube, Hazel Williamson and Lennon Williamson. Also surviving are one brother: Robert (Pat) Strube, of Morton, and two brother-in-laws: Raymond Rue and Walt Hess; as well as longtime companion Marcia Brownfield, of Bath. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters: Elaine Hess, Norma Rue and Mary Lee (Duane) Florshuetz.

Mr. Strube was baptized and raised in St. John’s Lutheran Church, at Topeka. He was a car and motorcycle enthusiast, who enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. He owned and operated Strube Trucking for over ten years. Prior to that, he worked for Keystone Inc. He had also been involved with his family’s Centennial Farm.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, in Havana, on Friday, March 24, 2023 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, in Havana, at a later date.
