Harriett Dilts

Harriett Dilts, 93, of Canton, passed away on Wednesday, March 8,2023, at OSF St Francis Hospital in Peoria.

She was born on March 18, 1929 in Canton to Michael and Katherine (Czaldo) Kuzniar.

She married Ernest Dilts on October 31, 1946, in Canton. He preceded her in death on January 10, 1997.

Surviving is her children, Rick Dilts of Canton, Kathy (Michael) Dye of Lewistown, grandchildren, Aaron Dye, Brett (Jennifer Kang) Dye, Scott (Tabatha Bordwine) Dilts, Kiley (Jeff) Quinn, great grandchildren, Oliver, Melodi, Jacey, Clayton, Camden, Katie, Beth, Sarah and Layla and one sister, Agnes Parlee.

Together with her husband she owned and operated, the Hilltop Motor Inn, Modern Home Improvements and Canton Sash and Door. She was an active member of St Mary’s Catholic Church where she worked the church bazaars, Food Pantry and helped with the Steeple fundraising. She sang in the choir and served as a past president of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of the Altruistic Club, served on the Citizen Advisory Board and a member of the Canton Business and Professional Woman’s Club.

A funeral Mass will be held at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Canton on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation from 9:30 am until 11 am at the church.

Cremation rites have been accorded through Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton and a burial of the ashes will be held a St Joseph Catholic Cemetery following the Mass.

Memorials may be made to the St Mary’s Food Pantry or the Altar and Rosary Society.
