William “Bill” Henry Stockham


William “Bill” Henry Stockham, 58, of Canton, passed away at 9:36 PM on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on January 11, 1962 to Robert “Bob” and Audrey (Picton) Stockham. He married Debbie Lung on August 8, 2008 in Spearfish, South Dakota. She survives.

Bill is also survived by four siblings, Robert “Bob Jr. “ (Cyndee) Stockham of Seaton, IL, Susan (Kevin) Naber of Normal, IL, Rodney Scott (Lisa) Stockham of Canton, IL, and Kristie Stockham of Peoria, IL; bonus daughter, Holly (Anthony) Danner Butler; bonus son, Ryan Danner; three grandchildren, Jerdon Butler, Ryzelli Butler, and Hailey Danner.

He is preceded in death by his parents; bonus son, Ryan Danner.

Bill worked for 27 years at Chuck’s Harley Davidson in Bloomington, IL and was highly regarded as one of the best technicians in the industry. He also proudly owned his own motorcycle mechanic shop in Canton, and was always willing to accommodate any biker needs regardless of time of day or night. Bill was always available to provide free motorcycle advice to anyone that asked. He owned several motorcycles over the years and attended the Sturgis Rally in South Dakota missing only one event since 1991. He was a regular at Sturgis’ Spearfish campsite where he accumulated countless friends many of whom attended from all over the world. His favorite memories included riding with Deb on the back of his Harley along with his extended biker family in the Black Hills of South Dakota and all over the State of Illinois, and several other locations in the United States. During his biking adventures, Bill made countless friends attributed to his ever-present smile, love for life, and huge heart.

Bill also loved to ride all over Canton on his pedal-assist trike bike with his granddaughter Hailey, the apple of his eye. Being “Papa” to Hailey, Jerdon, and Ryzelli gave him so much joy.

A visitation will be held from 2-5 PM on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton. Cremation rites will be accorded after the service with Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory. Memorials may be made to Bill’s grandkids.
