Donald L. Canevit, 78, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at OSF St Francis Hospital in Peoria.
He was born on November 6, 1942 in Canton to Winey and Louise (Snell) Canevit. They preceded him in death.
He married Diana Fengel on September 19, 1965 in Fairview. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Donny Canevit of Fairview, Dana (the late John) Clore of Canton, one brother, Robert (Shirley) Canevit of Canton, two sisters, Mary (Larry) Lindsey of Wee-Ma-Tuk, Cathy Yocum of TN, three grandchildren, Jessica Clore, Jasmine Clore and Jeremy Ziegenhorn and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death is four brothers, Harold, Eugene, Edward and William Canevit and two sisters, Dorothy Denny and Erma Burkhead.
Donald retired from Caterpillar as an Electrician in 1998. He served in the U.S. Airforce and was a member of the Fairview American Legion.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 3pm at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton with a visitation 2 hours prior at the funeral home.
Burial, with military honors, will be held at the Fairview Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Fairview American Legion.
