Minerva June Black

Lewistown- Minerva June Black, 97, of Lewistown passed away at 6:00 AM Thursday November 26, 2015 at her son’s home in Beardstown.

She was born June 11, 1918 at Clark road in Liverpool Twp. Fulton County the daughter of William Henry and Sarah Amy (Stufflebeam) Clark. She married Thomas W. Black on June 10, 1938 at Ft. Madison, IA. He died July 18, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Glenda Black, one grandson, Steven Detrick, three brothers and two sisters. Surviving is two sons, Richard (Waneta) Black of Beardstown, Lyle (Barbara) Black of Springfield, one daughter, Marilyn (Bob) Detrick, of Easton, seven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.

June was a homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church at rural Lewistown. She was also a member of the Ipava Chapter Order of Eastern Star and the Rebecca Lodge of Lewistown. June enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Reverend Al Sample officiating. Burial will be in Apple Cemetery at rural Lewistown. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Monday at the memorial home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. To send online condolences visit www.henrylange.com.
