Evelyn W. “Boone” Hahn


Evelyn W. “Boone” Hahn passed away Sunday, November 22,2015 at Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, IL.
She was born in Rosefield Township R.R. Elmwood, IL. June 10, 1920 to Charles M. Boone and Eva Lena Stewart.  She married Raymond “Jack” L. Hahn January 28, 1940 in Iowa.  He preceded her in death on August 22, 2007.
Surviving are her children; William of R.R. London Mills, Patricia (Ray) West of Knoxville, Sheila (Craig) Harris of Evansville, Wyoming, James (June) of Seguin, Texas, Bruce (Debra) of St. Augustine, Steven (Sandra) of Elmwood, and a daughter-in-law Bonita Hahn (Larry) son of Cambridge; twenty six grandchildren; fifty three great grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law Pat Boone of Oakland, Arkansas, and two nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, one son, two grandsons, a sister, and a brother.
Evelyn graduated from Farmington High School in 1939 as Salutatorian and went to Dickenson Secretarial School in Peoria, IL.  She worked at Block & Kuhls and Fannie Mae Candy Company in Peoria before becoming a farmer’s wife and devoted Mother and Grandmother.  She enjoyed reading, writing, and fishing with her husband and friends.
Services will be 10 AM Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington.  Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Friday at the Funeral Home.  Pastor David M. Shreeves will officiate.  Burial will follow at Yates City Cemetery in Yates City, IL.
