Mary Lou Record


Mary Lou Record, 84, of Ellisville, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Unity Point in Peoria. She was born on November 12, 1930 to Herschel and Edith (Garner) Anderson. She married Frank Record in November of 1966, he survives.

She will be missed by her husband, Frank Record of Ellisville; daughter, Susan (Brian) Platt of Ellisville; two granddaughters, Taylor and Megan; three nieces, Carla Anderson, Sundra (Don) Edwards, and Cathy Stewart; and one nephew, Steve (Lyn) Stewart.
She was preceded in death by her brother Tom Anderson; sister Patsy Stewart; and niece Marta Gasparovich.

Mary Lou graduated from Farmington High School in 1948. She graduated from Cottage School of Nursing in 1951. Mary Lou was a nurse for 62 years. Her and her daughter started Spoon River Home Health Service, INC. in 1993. She loved taking care of people. Mary Lou was a member of London Mills United Methodist Church, Women of the Moose in Farmington, and the Fairview Legion Aux.

One of Mary Lou’s greatest joys was Spoon River Scenic Drive. She had the Hill Top Shoppe on Ellisville Black Top for 35 years. Besides auctions, Mary Lou loved her dog Sugar, feeding her wild birds, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 AM on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL. Rev. Ken Harris will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Friday, November 13, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
