Mary Jo Johnson


Lewistown- Mary Jo Johnson, 88, of Lewistown, passed away at 1:34 AM Monday November 9, 2015 at Red Oak Estates in Canton.

She was born March 31, 1927 at Maquon, the daughter of Joseph Allen and Flossie Mae (Simpkins) Kennelly. She married Floyd Dean Johnson on January 7, 1949 at Macomb. He survivces with one son, Eric (Becky) Johnson of Orange beach, AL; three daughters, Kristina (James) Lewis of Sebring, FL; Kelly (David) Embry of Lewistown, and Cara (Jerry) Bainter of Peoria, 11 grandchildren, Jon Jacobus, Jim Jacobus, Jenni Markello, Rachael Mulligan, Ashley Johnson, Justin Johnson, Matthew Farwell, Nathan Farwell, Jacob Bainter, Jeris Bainter, and Camryn Johnson, 10 great grandchildren, and one sister, Betty (Don) McRoberts of Moline. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Jack Johnson, three brothers, and one sister.

Mary Jo was a school teacher at area schools. She was a member of the Illinois Street Christian Church in Lewistown.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown, where visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
