Barbara Kauzlarich


Canton – Barbara Mae Kauzlarich, 90, of Canton, passed away at 8:38 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2015 at Clayberg Nursing Center, where she had been a resident for the past 5 years.
Barbara was born February 26, 1925 in Canton to Charles Rudolph and Mae S. (Elliott) Wilson of Fairview. She married Joseph A. Kauzlarich on February 12, 1953 in Canton. They had been married 35 years when he passed away July 21, 1988.
She will be greatly missed by her son, Richard A. (Freda) Kauzlarich of Easton, brother Eldon R. Wilson of Canton, four granddaughters, Cathy Borders of Omaha, NE, Julie Kauzlarich of Columbia, SC, Anna Devore and Kimberly Kauzlarich of Easton, one grandson, and eleven great-grandchildren who survive her.
Barbara was a 1943 graduate of Fairview High School. She was employed by the Canton State Bank for 23 years. She graduated from the University of Madison in banking while working at the bank. She retired as auditor of the Canton State Bank on December 31, 1987.
Barbara was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canton. She served as Adult Chairman of the Christian Education Board in Canton. She also served as Treasurer of the Canton Service League, Secretary of the Canton Woman’s Club, President of the Fairview High School Alumni Association, and volunteered for the Graham Hospital Service League for several years.
Barbara was a great example of service as she was often helping others and serving in her community. Her family and friends were very important to her. She was a wonderful cook and gardener. She loved to spend time with friends and enjoyed entertaining. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, family, and friends and toured with Peoria Charter Coach on many trips.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 25 at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Clayberg Nursing Center or the Humane Society of Fulton County.
