Judity Joanne Lacer

Judith Joanne “Judy” Lacer, 79, of Forest City, passed away at her home, at 7:30 a.m., on Monday, March 18, 2024. She was born September 2, 1944, in Jamestown, North Dakota, to Carl and Eldora (Whitney) Woiwode. She married Norman Lacer on February 26, 1988. He preceded her in death on October 11, 2020.

Mrs. Lacer is survived by five children: Camille (Luis) Sanabria, of Colorado, Douglas (Andria) Lord, of Forest City, Gregory (Mickie) Lacer, Sr., of Vienna, Illinois, Brandon (Natalie) Lacer of Grant Park, Illinois, and Jeremy (Stacy) Lacer of Mantino, Illinois; fifteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; as well as one brother, Dick (Sally) Woiwode, of South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Mrs. Lacer was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in Manito, where she had been active in the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Forest City – Manito Rotary Club. She started a career in banking at Havana National Bank. By the time that she retired, she was the Vice President of Operations at 1st Midwest Bank. She enjoyed playing games, especially Dominoes, and making personalized cards. She was known as a great counselor to her friends and family.
A funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in Manito, at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, March 21, 2024, with visitation one hour prior to the services. Fr. Narcis Katambe and Deacon Bob Sondag will officiate. Burial will be held at St. Frederick’s Cemetery, in Manito, at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, or Serenity Point Hospice, in Canton. Online memorial messages may be left for the family at www.hurleyfh.com.
