He was born on October 7, 1953 in Chicago to Raymond J. and Ramona “Mona” (Kamplin) Ruggeri Sr.
Surviving is one sister, Roxane (John) Semick of Peoria, two nephews, Perry Michael Johnston of Brighton, CO, Adam Johnston of Peoria, two cousins, Sue McIntire of Norris, Kathy Caffey of Loveland, CO, six second cousins, Loretta McIntire of Norris, Gary McIntire of Norris, Bobby McIntire of Norris, Carla Burgess of Farmington, Ray Caffey of York, PA, Craig Caffey of Loveland CO and his beloved dog, Minnie Jo.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Roberta Joy Proctor and one infant brother.
Ray served in the U.S. Army.
In 1988 Ray began working as a traveling mechanic for Burlington Northern Railroad and retired after 27 years of service in 2015. Prior to that he held a series of drilling, coring and welding jobs. His passion was welding and rigging.
Cremation rites been accorded through the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton. A private family service will be held.
Memorials may be made to Fulton County Humane Society.
