She was born on January 4, 1945, in Peoria, to Milo and Grace (Baker) Starnes. They preceded her in death, along with one daughter Veronica Laird, one brother Bill, and one sister Kay.
Ila married Larry Laird on January 5, 1963. They were married for 51 years until he passed away in 2014.
Surviving are three children, Robert (Lisa) Laird of Fairview, Roxanne Laird of Fairview, and Garry Laird of Arizona, one brother Bud Starnes and two sisters, Rosemary Melvin, and Ellen Behrends, four grandchildren, James, Jeremy (Emma), Josh, and Justin (Courtney), and six great grandchildren, Brantley, Jackson, Ames, Thatcher Ethan, and Emileigh.
Ila was active as a 4-H leader, and in the London Mills Community Association. The most important thing to Ila was taking care of her children, and all her grandchildren.
Memorials may be, made to London Mills Fire Department.
Cremation rites will be accorded with Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton.
