Russell Eugene Baxter


Russell Eugene Baxter, 58, of Canton, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Graham Hospital. Russell was born on April 14, 1962 in Canton to Russell Allen and Daisy (Ashwood) Baxter. He married Sharon K. Pasley-Baxter. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother, Daisy; three sons, Van J. Pasley, Troy J. Pasley, and Jeremy F.L. (Molly) Pasley; and two grandchildren, Landon J. Pasley and Taylor Hahn.

He is preceded in death by his father Russell Allen.

Russell worked at Hitchcock Scrap Yard for over 28 years. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed being outdoors.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton, IL.  Rev. Kevin Van Tine will officiate. Memorials can be made to St. Jude. He was born on June 16, 1929, to Elery and Merle (Welker) Morse. They preceded him in death along with three sisters, Eileen, Evelyn and Louise.

He is survived by one sister Mary Bump, two nieces, Carla Gray and Lee Ann Bump and one nephew Timothy Bump, and several great nieces and nephews.

Dale was a Veteran of the United States Army. He retired from International Harvester in Canton and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Canton and the Canton Masonic Lodge. He played organ and piano at Wesley United Methodist church as well as Trinity Lutheran Church and Monterey Methodist Church. Dale enjoyed going for rides with his good friend George Meacham and in his younger years he enjoyed cross stitching.

Cremation rites have been accorded a private burial of his ashes will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Farmington.
