Georgette Elaine (Lisenbee) Whiteman, 71, of Canton, completed her journey and received her wings on April 10, 2021. She was born on August 16, 1949, to William and Charlotte (Pilkington) Lisenbee.
Georgette married Gerry Whiteman on December 23, 1973 in Canton. They were proud parents of one son, Shawn Allen Whiteman. He preceded her in death on May 6, 1985.
Georgette will be greatly missed by her sister, Judy (David) Brodbeck, niece Krista Brodbeck and her son Gage Calhoun, nephew Benjamin (Erin) Brodbeck and their daughter Ellie Grace Brodbeck, along with her brother Ken (Peggy) Linsenbee, nieces Hope Linsenbee and Heidi Putman and her children Tanner and Aubrianna Putman, who Georgette was affectionately known as Nana.
She graduated from Canton High School in 1967 and later graduated from Western Illinois University in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in education. Georgette worked as a cook for many years at Viano's in Norris. She loved the lord and was a proud member of South Park United Methodist Church in Canton, and active with the walk for Emanus group.
The family would like to thank Serenity Point Hospice of Canton for the excellent care and attention given to Georgette during her final leg of her journey.
Memorial may be made to South Park United Methodist Church in Canton.
A graveside service, burial of ashes will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday April 15, 2021.
