She was born August 23, 1941, in Yates City, to Glen and Grace (Arbogast) McBeth. Mary married Jim Dawson on February 6, 1959, at the Elmwood United Methodist Church's parsonage. He survives.
She is also survived by three children, Denise (Ricky) Clark of Athens, AL, Kathy (Bob) Hamby of Elmwood, and Mark (Rhonda) Dawson of Farmington; six grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Walt Cowden; one brother, Dale McBeth; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.
Mary was an active member of the Elmwood United Methodist Church.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, April 26, 2021, at the Elmwood United Methodist Church. A visitation will be held the night before on Sunday, April 25, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Elmwood United Methodist Church. Burial will immediately follow the service at Elmwood Township Cemetery. Due to Covid mandates, social distancing and masks will be required.
Memorials may be made to B.Y.E. Ambulance, Elmwood Fire Department, or the Elmwood United Methodist Church.
