Patricia J. Shoop, 91, of Canton, passed away at 1:43 pm, April 20, 2021 at her residence. She was born on August 11, 1929 in Bryant, IL to Andrew and Clara (Van Slyck) Bennett. Patricia married C. William Shoop on November 20, 1948. He preceded her in death on November 15, 2000. Also preceding her death were her parents, four brothers: Olen, Ned, Van, and Jake Bennett and one sister Lucille Lamm. Surviving are two sons; William Kent (Mary) Shoop and Bryon J. Shoop both of Canton, and one granddaughter Natalie (Matthew) Shoop-Travis.
Pat was a homemaker and loved to garden, cook, and take care of her family. She had an avid sweet tooth and always ensured there were brownies, cake, milk pie or banana splits at every gathering. She also enjoyed playing games, telling stories, and laughing around the table with her family.
Private graveside services will be held at Red School Cemetery in Canton. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Fulton County Farm Bureau Foundation (for Ag in the Classroom program, which educates students about the vital role the agriculture sector plays in their lives and society.)
