William “Bill” B. Taylor Jr.


William “Bill” B. Taylor Jr., 86, of Lewistown, passed away at 2:12 AM on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Graham Hospital. He was born on June 26, 1934 in Cairo, IL to William B. and Dolly Kathleen (Hampton) Taylor Sr. He married Naoma C. Winingear on November 1, 1952 in Fulton, MO. She survives.

Also surviving are two children, William Dennis (Pam Morris) Taylor of Lewistown and Billie (Jack) Simmons of Lewistown, IL; five grandchildren, Wes Simmons, Darren Simmons, Trevor Simmons, Brian Simmons, Jacquelyn Hilton; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Charles Ernest Taylor, Peter Daniel Taylor, and Robert Allen Taylor; and four sisters, Jeneanne Marble, Marsha Black, Madonna Griffith, and Robin Gorsuch.

William was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jackson D. Taylor, and two sisters, Melinda “Linda” Peterson and Elizabeth Timmons.

William owned Taylor Radio, was a supervisor at Dana Corporation, and also worked as a Brick Mason. He was a member of the Morning Star Lodge #734 in Canton, IL for 49 years.

Services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL where a visitation will be held an hour prior. Masonic Rites will be held at 10:45 AM at the funeral home. Rev. Kevin VanTine will officiate. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton, IL.
