Robert “Bob” E. Bollinger

Farmington – Robert “Bob” Ernest Bollinger, 86, of Farmington, passed away at 10:54 AM on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Unity Point Health Methodist. He was born on June 14, 1931 in Farmington, IL to James and Emma (Handley) Bollinger. He married the love of his life, Charlene Marie Reed on July 13, 1952 in Farmington, IL, she survives.

Also surviving are three children, Robert “Bob” (Tina) Bollinger of Elmwood, Greg (Michelle “Miki”) Bollinger of Plainfield, and Cynthia Myers of Farmington; six grandchildren, Cory (Marisa) Bollinger of East Peoria, Scott (Jennifer) Slayton of Elmwood, Christina (Todd) Lasswell of Havana, David (Joni West) Slayton of Canton, and Aiden and Avery Bollinger of Plainfield; 13 great-grandchildren, John Maxwell, Billy, Cody, Emma, and Ashlyn Slayton, Sierra and Alexis Lasswell, Beau and Breea Slayton, Seth, Sarene, Griffin, and Athena Bollinger; and one sister, Eileen Wilcoxen of Farmington.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, and seven sisters.

Bob worked at Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 41 years where he retired in 1991. He was active in Boy Scouts and an avid Cubs and Bears fan. Bob was a loving and devoted husband, dad, grandpa, and pa.

Services will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL. Pastor James Buchanan will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Farmington, IL. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Friday, April 27, 2018 at the funeral home.
