Carrol E. Taylor


Lewistown- Carrol E. Taylor, 88, of Lewistown passed away at 5:25 PM Saturday April 14, 2018 at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born April 3, 1930 in Lewistown to Charles Edward and Mable (Davis) Taylor. He married Barbara Thompson on April 10, 1954 at Pittsfield. She died April 21, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his parents, as well as brothers, Leland, Robert, James, Marion and Jack, sisters, Maralee Bland, Helen Cline and Barbara Irwin.

He is survived by one son, John (Keri) Taylor of Washington, two sisters, Carolyn Danner of Lewistown and Susan Sarti of Manito, and two grandchildren, Abbi and Brock Taylor of Washington.

Carrol served in the US Army during the Korean War. He attended the Lewistown United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator at local coal mines and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He enjoyed his family and friends and sharing his garden products and bird houses.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday April 18th at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Reverend Shane Smith officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the memorial home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Lewistown with military services conducted by his VFW and American Legion Post’s. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and the Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1.
