Harvey L. Selph


Dunfermline –Harvey L. Selph, 94, passed away on April 15, 2018, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born on October 22, 1923, in London Mills to Alfred Freeman and Alma Surilda (White) Selph.  They preceded him in death.

He married Mabel Newlun on November 30. 1942 in Palmyra, Missouri.

Also preceding him in death is his wife, step father Ira Mitchell, two brothers two sisters and three grandchildren.

Surviving are his children, Thomas (Carol) Selph of St. David, Brenda (Bob) Gardner of Cuba, Terry (Kathy Lock) Selph of Canton, nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and his special friend Frosty Nolan.

Harvey served in the US Army during WWII and served in the Battle of the Bulge.

He worked for Bruketta Mine in Norris, Lock’s Ford Dealership, farmed and retired from International Harvester in Canton.  After he retired he owned and operated S&S Auto Sales.  He always enjoyed buying and selling cars. He was an avid Cub fan.

A visitation will be held on Thursday April 19, 2018, from 5 pm until 7 pm, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton.

Cremation rites will follow the visitation and a graveside burial of the ashes will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018, at 10 am at White Chapel Memory Gardens of Canton.
