David W. Lawver


Lewistown- David W. Lawver, 63, of Lewistown passed away at 11:50 AM Friday March 30, 2018 at Unity Point Methodist in Peoria.

He was born January 2, 1955 at Canton the son of Leland “Wayne” and Faith (Ward) Lawver. He married Jill Nolan on October 1, 1977 at Summum. She survives along with one daughter, Brianne (Michael) Kennedy of Lewistown, two granddaughters, Madison and Georgia Kennedy of Lewistown, and his dachshund Bits. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Nancy and Norma.

Dave graduated from Astoria High School and then from Western Illinois University, with a Bachelors in Social Work. He served his country in the US Air Force. Dave was an investigator for the Department of Children and Family Services, where he was respected and cared for by many. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lewistown and the Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1, of which both memberships gave him great pride. Dave was well known for his never give up attitude and his love for the lord and music. His biggest enjoyment in life was his girls Jill, Brianne, Madison, and Georgia. Dave was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Tuesday April 3rd at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Donald Ike Hackett officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Lewistown with military services conducted by the Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and the Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until noon Tuesday at the memorial home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family and will be designated by them to the charity of their choice.
