Edmund J. Prisby Jr.


Trivoli – Edmund J. Prisby Jr, 79, of Trivoli, passed away at 10:52 AM on Friday, April 6, 2018 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on November 2, 1938 in Detroit, MI to Edmund and Helen (Mirowski) Prisby.

Ed Joined the United States Air Force in February 1958. He was stationed in Hanna City, IL. He served with the 791st Radar Squadron. While stationed here he met his surviving wife of 58 years, Sandra K. (Snyder) Prisby. He was a radar tech, sharp shooter and member of the color guard, who was discharged with honors in 1962. Immediately after he went to work for Caterpillar Tractor Company for 39 years and retired in 2000. Ed was a member of the American Legion Post 140 Farmington, IL, 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus, and St. Matthews Catholic Church in Farmington, IL. Ed loved the outdoors, he was an avid camper with his wife, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and dog Gus. Ed was a proud Polish man and played the accordion in a band called EJ Prisby And The Original Blue Notes.

Surviving is his wife Sandra Prisby; four children, Cathy (Rick) Ulrich, Cindy (Mike) Howard, Edmund (Kathy) Prisby III, and Connie (Mike) Kelly; 18 grandchildren ;25 great-grandkids; sister, Marcy (Les) Gargulinski Tanona

Ed is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Farmington, IL. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Tuesday April 10, 2018 at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL. Father Joe Dondanville will officiate. Burial will take place at Trivoli Cemetery, Trivoli, IL. Memorials can be made to Illinois Cancer Care, American Legion Post 140 Farmington, IL, and Knights of Columbus.
