Rosemary I. Williams, 82, of Canton, IL passed away at 2:05 am on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Heartland Health Care in Canton. She was born on July 23, 1935 in Kerton Township, Fulton County, IL, the daughter of Orville and Fern (Thomas) Trone. Rosemary married James Williams on July 9, 1960 in Summum, IL. He preceded her in death on January 22, 1998.
Also preceding her in death are sisters, Ruth Trone and Dorothy Plate.
Survivors include her son, Randy Williams of Canton, 6 grandchildren, Rick Williams, Ashley Williams, Fawn Sackrider, Joshua Williams, Randy Williams II and Emily Williams, 7 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters, Jeanette (and Eddie) Hopkins of Astoria, IL, June (and David) Hicke of Glasford, IL, Opalene Stambaugh of Astoria, Ida (and Dave) Clark of Astoria, 2 brothers, Tom (and Pam) Trone of Astoria and Stephen Trone of Astoria.
Rosemary was a homemaker and telephone operator in Astoria. She also worked at Wilbur’s Coffee Cup in Astoria and restaurants in Chanderville and Virginia.
Rosemary was a member of TOPS in Astoria for many years. She enjoyed her visits “home” to Astoria. She loved cooking, baking and being the oldest of 9 children, in which she was always the caretaker.
Services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Pastor Gary Sheets will be officiating. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be in the Woodland Cemetery in Astoria at a later date.
