Peoria – John K. DeMotte, 78, of Peoria, passed away at 7:05 AM on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Heartland Health Care Center in Canton, IL. He was born on September 26, 1939 in Lewistown to Charles L. and Jessie (McCullough) DeMotte.
Surviving is one brother, Larry (Carole) DeMotte of Lewistown, one sister, Jeanne (Dick) Seward of Lewistown, numerous nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews; and two sister-n-laws, Shirley DeMotte of Lewistown and Neva DeMotte of Coos Bay, OR.
John was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Berle, Donnie, Gary, and George, and one sister, Joann Sherwood.
John worked for Navistar in Canton, IL and Springfield, Ohio, where he retired after 32 years.
John served in the United States Army.
Per John’s request, cremation rites will be accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Graveside services with military honors and burial of ashes will be at a later date at Providence Cemetery in rural Lewistown, IL.
