Ronald O. Shaw


Canton-It is with complete & utter sadness to announce the death of our beloved, husband, father and friend.  Ron Shaw, an extremely intelligent & witty, family loving, Harley riding, honest & loyal straight shooting, hunting, fishing & nature loving, traveling man, left our beautiful world with strength & dignity on Monday, March 27th at 4:20 pm at his home surrounded by family & God's loving grace.
Ron was the most selfless & generous loving man who always wanted to take care of others before himself.  He treasured the strong friendships he made & worshipped the ground his wife walked on!  He loved his children and granddaughter with his whole heart.
Ron was born on August 1st, 1957 and was 59 years old when God welcomed him home.  He is survived by his loving wife & partner in life, Catherine Ann (Donaho) Shaw, Canton, IL. They married, September 11th, 1982 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Canton.  He is also survived by his two wonderful & caring children; Amanda Lea (Whiteman) Waddell of Pensacola, FL and Derek Eugene Shaw of Peoria, IL and his sweet & beautiful granddaughter McKaila Paige Waddell of Pensacola, FL.  He was proceeded in death by his father Donald Eugene Shaw.  He is survived by his sweet mother, Carol Joan (Nelson) Shaw of Canton, IL.  Also left behind for now surviving are his two brothers, Rick (Doreen) Shaw & Randy Shaw, his beautiful and loving sister, Donna (Shaw) Smith and proceeded in death her late husband Mike Smith, all of Canton, IL.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Ron graduated from Canton High School in 1975, he last worked at Enercon Engineering in East Peoria, IL doing electrical work.  He was baptized and attended Shields Chapel Church and last attended St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Havana, IL.  Ron was a member of the Canton Elks Lodge for 30 years. 
Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Friday, March 31st at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton, IL.  Funeral services will begin at 10 am at Oaks-Hines with Father Phillip Boeve of Deerfield, WI officiating. Burial services will follow after at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton, IL.
