Lewistown – Christine Chasteen, 72, of Lewistown, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017, at her residence. She was born on January 4, 1945, in Peoria to Anthony “Tony” (Margaret (Arnett) Columbia. They preceded her in death.
She married Harold “Jr” Chasteen on August 3, 1972 in Havana. He survives.
Also surviving are her children, Joe (Lori) Almasi of Davenport, IA, Angela (Jean Kueter-Almasi) Almasi of Davenport IA, Marty Chasteen of Lewistown, sisters, Rosalie Williams of Farmington, Suzanne (Jim) Humphrey of Bettendorf IA, Daughter-in-law Jennifer Chasteen of Washington, nine grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death are two children Monty and Michael Chasteen, brother in law, Jack Williams and her mother and father in law, Leo Eugene and Velda Chasteen.
Christine worked as a jail officer for 17 years for the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office retiring in 2006. She was a member of the Farmington Moose #1571.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of her Life will be held at the Farmington Moose on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 11 am to 4 pm.
Memorials may be made to the New Horizons School in Lewistown.
