Lloyd A. Dean


Havana- Lloyd A. Dean, 92, of rural Havana, passed away Sunday March 19, 2017 at his home.

He was born June 24, 1924 at Sperry, IA; the son of Orval J. and Beatrice (Lee) Dean. He married Ruby Chambers on April 26, 1967 at Ottawa, IL. She survives with two daughters, Vickie (Phil) Slightom of Dewitt, IA; Susan Lynn (Larry) Moritz of Rome, IL; one step son, Don (Betty) Davis of Peoria Heights, IL; 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren, and one sister, Opal Gulick of Peoria, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Larry Dean, one step son, Darold Davis, one grandchild, and one sister.

Lloyd worked 31 years as an electrician at Caterpillar before retiring. He was a WW 2 Navy veteran serving in the South Pacific. He was a lifetime member of the Havana VFW Post, and a member of the UAW.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown, with Reverend Sue Roat officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Lewistown, with military rites accorded by Havana VFW Post. Condolences may be made at henrylange.com
